Hugh Groocock
Hugh Groocock, MA. More than thirteen years of experience working with real estate clients in San Francisco. Experience counts!
I have represented buyers and sellers throughout San Francisco for more than thirteen years and have navigated several business cycles, bringing experience, long-term perspective and breadth of knowledge to my practice.
My practice includes the sale of single family homes, condominiums, tenancies in common, and apartment buildings. I communicate easily with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations, ranging from sellers of multi-million dollar view homes to first-time buyers of one-bedroom condominiums. The majority of my business is generated from repeat business and referrals from other satisfied clients. My goal is to earn the loyalty of my clients, as well as referrals to other prospective clients, by providing exceptional service, no matter whether the transaction is big or small.
When working with buyers, I keep eventual resale in mind, counseling my clients to invest their resources wisely, and providing clear analysis of each opportunity that is available. When working with sellers, I combine careful advance preparation, clear communication with other agents, and a flexible attitude towards quickly-shifting market conditions, in order to secure the best possible offer from the best qualified buyer.
I am known for my personal integrity, and I believe that investment in long-term trusting relationships is the best way to do business. My reputation for integrity among colleagues ensures a cooperative and trusting response from other brokers in ways that especially benefit my clients. Thanks to this approach, I have ranked as a "Company Top Producer" for several years (including 2008) in terms of volume of business conducted during each year.
I have a masters degree in counseling psychology and have worked with clients in a variety of psychotherapy settings, bringing an especially well-trained ear to my work in real estate sales as well as suberb listening and negotiation skills and impeccable ethics. Whether you are buying a home or preparing your home for sale, I understand that your choice of home is a very personal matter, and I'll listen closely to what you really want when working out a strategy to meet your goals.
Prior to working in real estate, my background was in writing and teaching. I also have a good eye for architecture and interior design, the ability to stage homes effectively, and the experience to advise clients about what sorts of improvements are possible and worthwhile, whether they are getting ready to sell, or moving into a new home.
I have a reputation for being reliable and detail-oriented and I believe in the importance of immediate follow-through in a business where time is of the essence. I also embrace the increasing role of technology in the marketplace and encourage my clients to make full use of all the web-based resources that are available to make the process more transparent. I have a quiet sense of humor, a relaxed attitude, and a deep respect for my clients' needs and wishes. I also have enduring patience with clients who are going through a stressful time, regardless of their resources or timeframe. I am a shrewd and effective negotiator, achieving results with a mixture of assertive diplomacy along with keen psychological insight into what the other party is really looking for. Whether working with buyers or sellers, I aggressively pursue my clients' best interests, with an instinct for smart timing and negotiation, and the experience to guide all parties to a successful conclusion.
